The Midwest Haunters Convention will once again begin with our welcome reception and registration at the Hyatt hotel beginning at 4 pm. There will be hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. This is a great time to check in for the convention and socialize with old and new friends before heading out for a fun filled evening!

Sit back and relax on our charter buses while they shuttle you through a night of fright. We’re hosting two awesome haunts, with discounted shopping and a Scary-Oke show for your entertainment!

We’ll start the evening with a tour of the newest haunted attraction in Columbus, the Scare-A-Torium. A collection of fears await you with performers from the Feature Creatures acting troupe teaming up with an interactive cast of entertainers. With over 30 scenes of distraction; the Scare-A-Torium will provide a night to remember!

Then get ready for a tour of the World’s Most Aggressive attraction; Haunted Hoochie Dead Acres. The Darkest Show on Earth provides a full sensory assault, taking you by the throat and dragging you down the rabbit hole and into the realm of a heart pounding, in your face horror show. This spectacular attraction is one of the scariest experiences in the industry.

Shuttle Bus Tours only $49

Includes admission to Dead Acres Haunted Hoochie & the Scare-A-Torium

We’ll charter air conditioned charter buses to transport you from the Hyatt Regency to Dead Acres Haunted Hoochie and the Scare-A-Torium. Buses run every 15 minutes between the attractions. Price includes admission to all haunts at the attractions. You’ll be on your own for dinner, but we’ve made arrangements for discounted meals. Shuttle buses will pickup/drop off riders at the Hyatt.

Drivers are welcome to visit the attractions; tickets will be sold at the door. Times are listed below for each event. Driving directions will be available.

Dining Options

There are four restaurants within one block of the Scare-A-Torium. We’ve allocated 1.5 hours at the Scare-A-Torium so everyone will have time after touring to eat at one of the quick service restaurants below; with special discounted meals (sales tax not included) for our bus riders:

White Castle – Cravers Meal only $4.00. Get 4 Hamburgers, small fry & a 21 oz soft drink.

Penn Station – A small sub, small fresh cut fries and regular drink for $7.00

Long John Silvers – 2pc Fish Combo or a 2pc Chicken Combo for $3.99. Choice of 2pcs NEW Breaded Crispy fish or Classic Battered fish or one of each with fries, hush puppies and a 32oz soft drink – OR – 2pcs of chicken with fries, hush puppies and a 32oz soft drink – OR – 1pc of fish and 1pc of chicken with fries, hush puppies and a 32oz soft drink.

Are you ready for an evening of unforgettable horror and fright? From the moment you step through the door, you’ll experience a fear like no other. This former 55,000 square ft Big Bear grocery store has been transformed into the Scare-A-Torium, the newest Halloween haunted attraction in Columbus, Ohio. Colonel Frightmore has traveled the world collecting fears and he has dozens of them on display for your entertainment. Performers from the Feature Creatures acting troupe join an interactive cast of characters to provide the ultimate haunted attraction fright. We’ve also recruited a select group of performers from around the Midwest to join us for a fearful evening of entertainment.

The original haunt (Torment) was purchased from Timothy & Ann Marie Gavinski in Wisconsin. There, the haunt was rated the #1 attraction in the state for several years. The haunt was moved to Columbus in Oct 2009 and renamed the Scare-A-Torium; a collection of FEARS. The attraction has been expanded to include RIP Stinkers Funhouse; a collection of evil clowns in a shocking house of misdirection, fright and FUN. With over 30 scenes of distractions; the Scare-A-Torium will provide a night for everyone to remember!

After 10 years of producing Terror Park at Cooper stadium; MHC Co-Producers Kelly and Neena Collins have opened their own attraction; the Scare-A-Torium. It was a dream for years and they’ve turned it into a reality. The Scare-A-Torium includes a Retail Costume Store, Costume Find Columbus and we’ll host a special discount sale for all attendees.

The buses will drop everyone off at the Hyatt as the evening rocks on with the 2^nd annual
Scary-oke show and MHC Haunters Party. Ten haunters will have the opportunity to perform on stage during our party starting at 11:30 pm. Stop by after the haunt tours for a party with your fellow haunters! Free admission for everyone! DJ Round Boy will entertain us and provide Karoke equipment for the party.
