Returning this year will be a vendor demo area on the tradeshow floor. We will be scheduling 45 minute presentations every hour on the hour. Look for some great presentations from the MHC vendors. These presentations are free to ALL attendees of the Midwest Haunters Convention!

Saturday June 5th:

10:00 – 10:45:   Grex Airbrush – Which Airbrush is right for me?  Ken Franklin will give an overview of the types of airbrushes and makeup available and describe how to choose the best one for your application.  A makeup demo will accompany the discussion. Ken has over 17 years of effects makeup experience with traditional and airbrush techniques and has been the makeup department head of several major haunted events.

11:00 – 11:45: Hollywood FX makeup artist and two time Emmy winner Dean Jones introduces techniques and materials used in his feature films to the haunt industry. Jones has over 80 feature films and 200 television episodes to his credit. Some of his feature films are Day of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead 3-D, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Trek, Street Kings, Toolbox Murders, and Chain Letter. Dean and his brother Starr also own and operate their own haunted attraction in North Carolina called “The Original Hollywood Horror Show” in which they have incorporated their makeup skills.

2:00 – 2:45:  Darklight will be presenting their Precision Lighting System, a low voltage LED lighting system that is durable, easy to use, and multi-purpose. Darklight’s Precision Lighting System was developed last year during the production of Shanghai Nightmare. The creators needed a system that was easy to install, make adjustments, and uninstall while lasting season after season. When they weren’t satisfied with what was then available, they created their own. Darklight’s line of Precision Lights range from tiny LED spotlights to high power flood lights, all designed to withstand your toughest audience and atmosphere.

11:00 – 11:45: Body FX Prosthetics will be having a demo on how to use their BodyFX prosthetics and some alternative, textured paint techniques that are simple and effective.  Inspiration for beginners to the more seasoned artists.
